Since I love to stretch my relaxers for 10-13 weeks at a time, I need to maintain smooth edges without the effects of a gel based product.

This summer I have been on a mission to restore my hair and revitalize my healthy hair journey all the way over again. I have fallen off track with my journey due to some changes in my personal life but I am in full restart mode now!

One of the protective styles I have been wearing this summer is a partial sew-in weave. I got my hair installed at 4 weeks post relaxer. While shopping at Target I ran across Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Edge Control and I decided to give this product a try. I was so impressed with the hold that this product had on the natural state of my edges. This product is like a great pomade with extra strength that doesn’t have a greasy look to it. I realized that a little goes a long way so there is no need to cake the product on. This product also has a great smell. I never experienced any flakiness so this product is a new fav in my staple of hair products! Olive Oil Edge Control can be purchased at many retails stores for $4.99.

I give this product 5 stars!

Singer-songwriter, Monica, rocks out with her own take on casual elegance on the cover of Today’s Black Woman Style Report.

Paramus, NJ, January 4, 2012 – Today’s Black Woman Style Report magazine—the guide to fashion, beauty and celebrity style for women of color—announced the release of their latest edition. The February/March 2012 issue of TBW brings it this season with some chic layered outfits that are guaranteed to keep you looking hot and feeling fabulous! To showcase some of these hot looks, TBW recruited the beautiful and always stylish, Monica.

When it comes to her musical talents, singer-songwriter, Monica, never ceases to amaze us—and her fashion sense is no different. Over the years, we’ve seen Monica in all styles—from long, gorgeous dresses—to more casual looks—Monica has successfully rocked it all. Now, she shares her fashion tips with the world via an exclusive chat and photo spread with TBW. The R&B sensation shared her love for accessories, her favorite looks, who her go-to stylists are and whom she feels is her beauty and fashion icon.

Another feature—that may quite possibly be a first for TBW—not only features a lovely songstress, but costars a handsome male singer, as well. Flip the page to TBW’s beautiful photo spread featuring singer, Olivia, and R&B legend, Mr. Johnny Gill. The two paired up lovely as they posed in elegant evening attire. Johnny in a strapping Hugo Boss tux, and ‘Liv in a gorgeous black chiffon gown. Check them out in these incredible looks and a few others in the exclusive four-page spread.

Today’s Black Woman Style Report also sat down with “Basketball Wives” star, Tami Roman, to discuss her simple—yet strategic—style, her ability to open up to the public and some of the challenges she’s had to overcome since being on the popular television show. Others stars highlighted in the jam-packed issue include: La La Anthony, Teairra Marie, Gloria Govan, Angela Simmons, Ashanti, Selita Ebanks, the lovely ladies of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” and the sisters of “Braxton Family Values.”

Today’s Black Woman Style Report magazine is a magazine catering to women of color—offering a guide to celebrities, beauty, fashion and style since it hit newsstands. Today’s Black Woman Style Report is distributed worldwide, and is available on newsstands and in most major chains, which include Walmart, Borders, Barnes & Nobles, Rite Aid, 7-11 and many more.
